Several beauty pageants have been held across the country this year. However, one has been anonymous. This made many forget about it.
Kezzi Entertainment, the official organisers of the Miss Uganda pageant have always launched it in April, but this time round the pageant was launched five months later.
“Some of our partners (read sponsors) were not ready yet and we needed to move with them,” Brenda Nanyonjo, the CEO Kezzi Entertainment, said.
She added that it was also something to do with the economic instability yet they needed money to run the pageant.
This year’s pageant, unlike the previous ones, will be rushed so that the crowning happens in November. The organisers said there will be no regional tours as the contestants from different regions will have to travel to Kampala for auditions to take over the crown from reigning queen, Zahara Nakiyaga (pictured).
