It is at this time that having a big name in the music industry comes in handy, otherwise there is no clear explanation why Iryn Namubiru could spearhead a project such as stopping underage drinking.
Mid this week, the Addicted singer was honoured as the goodwill ambassador of the stop underage drinking campaign aimed at raising awareness and stopping stigma.
She was chosen during the Recovery Uganda walk event in Kamwokya a few days ago at an event attended by Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda and Minister for Kampala Betty Kamya as the key guests.
The songstress, who is working hard to revive her singing career, will be visiting schools and communities advising the youth on the dangers of drinking below the ages of 18.
She embraced her new role by announcing it on her Twitter account: “Honoured as Goodwill ambassador of Stop under Age drinking to have taken part in recovery Uganda walk.”
