Renowned events promoter Balaam Barugahara lost his son Jonathan Tumusiime Amooti on Saturday evening to cancer after fighting for over a year now, visiting different hospitals across the globe.
Balaam had taken him to Mulago, Redcross Hospital (South Africa), Aster Medcity (India) and was slated to take him to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Massachusetts USA, before he breathed his last.
“Germ cell tumor has deprived us of our wonderful ninja before he reached the best hospital in the world. We had secured for him to travel to America yesterday. He couldn’t reach here! After a long battle in India,” Balaam wrote on his Facebook timeline after the demise.
Balaam is organizing a vigil tonight (Monday) at his place on Plot 5, Ntinda Avenue with a requiem mass to be held tomorrow (Tuesday) at 11am at St. Charles Lwanga Church in Ntinda before the burial at Nakasajja on Gayaza Road at 2pm.
“I will miss you forever. You are an irreplaceable master. I will continue sharing your love with children in the same cancer condition,” said Balaam afterwards.
Uganda has lost many people to cancer most notably Bbale Francis, Rosemary Nankabirwa and Mark Augustine Makumbi among others. May his soul rest in peace
