There is no way you can mention Ugandan tourism without the name Amos Wekesa. He has played a very vital role in having Uganda feature on the world map through tourism and it seems the journey is just starting for him.
Through his Great Lakes Safaris and Uganda Lodges Ltd. Wekesa has hired CornerSun Destination Marketing as its marketing representative in the United States.
David DiGregorio, the managing director of the company will lead the brand’s presence and travel trade relations in the US and since their partnership a few days ago, Great Lakes Safaris has already become a member of the US Tour Operators Association.
“There is great success so far in this partnership and it’s a good frontier to market Uganda’s tourism potential in a big source market. We decided to bring Cornersun because it’s a trusted global brand.” Wekesa told sqoop magazine.
Great Lakes was responsible for flying in ex-Barcelona footballers a few months ago to have a charity match against the former Uganda cranes superstars at Namboole and one of their primary goals in that move was to interest them into getting to know about Uganda’s tourism industry.
