Is this a reincarnation of Denis Rackla? He’s one of those music artistes that had disappeared from the scene. Perhaps, the kitchen got too hot to handle. Without doubt, he’s back with a collaboration about phone networks.
Network is shot in those makeshift garages, the ones that characterize most Ugandan environs. Shantal Ruby plays the part of this female mechanic that goes off in search for network. Rackla being the boss, keeps questioning her moves. There’s that funny, if not stubborn way in which he rolls his eyeballs, all acting very concerned.
I love how all the men are clad in the overalls, more exciting is the fact that Shantal too is clad in that overall. Nothing is more attractive than watching a lady play the part of a mechanic and taking it too serious. You will enjoy how the men soldier on with their bent strides, humpbacked frames all wondering where the lady is going.
The fact of the matter, this is a video that’s shot on a budget yet nails most aspects of a good video. The storyline is easy to follow and executed flawlessly. All in all, a music video will come down to the quality of engagement of the characters. Are the characters in flow with the song? Do they enjoy the scenes they act out? Denis Rackla and Shantal do just that.
Indeed, one soon realizes that the video is all about the various tricks ladies use while cheating. And the search for network is one of those excuses. Surely the video ends with Rackla finding Shantal in a romantic mood with the side guy. Although the visuals and the edits are pretty mediocre, it’s a video that will keep you entertained without much struggle. This is the puzzle the network music video tried to solve.
