All you need to do is enter the Yamaha E-Band Competition, the first-ever amateur band competition which showcases recorded video performances of music talents from diverse cultures all- over the world.
Aimed at giving artistes exposure around the world via the internet, the competition will also see the grand winner granted an all-expense paid trip to compete at the 2016 Asian Beat Band Competition on November 5, 2016. Besides that, there will also be individual prizes for the best guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, drummer and vocalist.
Upcoming musicians are encouraged to sign-up and register their bands at the Yamaha Music Showroom at Radiant House on Plot 20 Kampala Road for a chance to kickstart a career in music before August 27, 2016. Thereafter Selak Uganda in conjunction with Talent Africa will hold a free recording session for various bands for submission into the competition.
“This competition is meant to facilitate talent development, as well as motivate and inspire young musicians to do their best and scale to an international level,” said Meron Agaba, the general manager of Selak Uganda.
However, there are qualities that entrants should have to be considered that is they should be amateur musicians with no contract with a recording company, the band must comprise up to maximum six members, must be a minimum of 15 years of age with parental/guardian consent, the band’s video submission must not exceed six minutes in length and should be void of any offensive and discriminatory words or actions to any person or group.
