The Triplets Foundation Uganda known to many as ‘Sitya Loss Children’ after appearing in Eddy Kenzo’s video by the same name have had one of their dreams come true. During an interview a few years ago, the members of the dance group were quoted saying they wanted to build and own a dance studio.
Last Sunday, the crew unveiled their baby – Triplets Uganda Dance Studio – on Salaama Road, in an event which had performances from singers like Eddy Kenzo and the Sitya Loss dancers themselves. According to Dauda Kavuma, the manager and director of Triplets Foundation, they were happy to see their dream come true.
“We had a small place in Makindye where we always practised our dance moves from but we are glad we now have a place we call home” Kavuma said. He added that the studio will not only offer dance classes but also train learners on various instrument such as guitar, drums and piano among others.
The studio cost them Shs10m which they got from their savings and funds from donors such as Bakunda Chihala from Zambia and Richard Longhurst from the US. The studio, which will start operations soon, will charge children Shs100,000 per month and Shs200,000 for the elders. Non-Privileged children with talent will not pay and will also have a chance to join the Triplets Foundation.
