One could say that the Uganda Premier League is in limbo but most clubs especially the best four, are doing everything possible to ensure it does not die. It’s for this reason that they are embarking on gathering artistes to be part of the beautiful game.
First it was Bobi Wine who was unveiled about two months back as the brand ambassador of Express FC. Because of the rivalry between the Red Eagles and SC Villa, the latter have also decided to bring on board an artiste – Leila Kayondo – as their ambassador. She replaces Desire Luzinda.

Leila signed an agreement with Villa’s president Eng. Ben Misagga at Villa park on Thursday and among the things she’s supposed to do is perform at the club’s events and represent it everywhere she goes.
The ‘Awo’ singer took her excitement to social media saying: “Ladies and gentlemen meet the new brand ambassador of Sport Club Villa Jogoo ltd your’s truly Leila Kayondo yeahhhhhh!. Life gets bigger and better with Uganda’s best team. I am a big brand and I’m more than ready to bring more fans to this great club.”
However, the task that lies ahead of her is huge. Not because she’s not an ardent football fan, but because of her musical schedule. Leila will need to ensure that she is available for the club, when she is needed.
