At the beginning of this week, Uganda Broadcasting Cooperation announced Simon Kaheru as their acting board chairman. Kaheru replaced Nathan Igeme Nabeta who has been in office for more than a year. Considering the trend at the station where previous bosses have been fired, we sought to find out if indeed Nabeta just resigned as was said. And according to an insider at the Nile Avenue-based TV station, Nabeta indeed resigned after winning the Jinja Municipality East MP seat. But in a twist of events, he was later thrown out of Parliament. “He had already tendered in his resignation but unfortunately, he also lost the MP seat,” our source said. Looks like the odds played against the NBS TV owner, but so is life. Congrats to Kaheru who wins in all this.
