You always can’t help but love Bobi Wine, especially the child-like curiosity and flair he adds to things. One of the things that certainly hits you in this video is his playful nature. Straight away, any boredom that could be associated with this video escapes through the window. Bobi Wine pulls you into the video, or should we say, his fun world? In a way, this playfulness rubs off onto Aidah (the vixen), and the viewer. You find yourself having a sheepish smile as you nod your head in enjoyment.
The camera guy and the director made sure to cut the girl’s catwalk movement in sync with the audio. In her bubbling dress, with her rhythmic movement, this girl is just the right visual for this occasion.
Apart from beer and drinks, nothing unites men than a moment when a pretty girl walks past. It is an intuitive feeling, a loud silence that speaks volumes. In exactitude, Bobi Wine and Nubian Li drop their shades just a little, to confirm they are seeing right and the chase begins.
From the choice of clothing to the choice of location, the Aidah music video ticks off all the boxes of an awesome music video. I thought Bobi Wine would lose his mojo. He didn’t. He carried it through. Even when the video began to falter at the night scenes and the poor smoke effects, Bobi Wine still kept this ship afloat and stirred it in worthy directions.
Another disappointment is that Nubian Li fails to entirely break out of his shell. He is still laid-back, a little too serious. He was the missing piece in the purposeless play that is this music video. Perhaps it was Bobi Wine’s moment to shine, and you don’t want to outshine the master. Right? Overall, it’s a video that reassures whoever is dodging your love signals.
