Have you ever wondered why people love to whine about almost everything? I just don’t get it. For some reason, some people enjoy making excuses on a number of issues.
Whether it is a failed job interview, poor grades, failed marriage, name it, they will have an excuse for everything. They feel entitled. They love to throw pity parties. They feel as though the world owes them something. Yet in truth, the world owes them nothing.
I once knew of a very bright student in school who failed to make it to graduation because all she did was keep wishing that her father was alive to bring her enemies to book. She made wishes for the government to do better and acknowledge the services rendered by her late father through honouring the children. Petty rants just!
I have seen couples failing to move on from the reality of the harsh relationships and blaming themselves. I have seen grown-ups waiting on a relative to connect them to a job and when that does not happen, they make them the issue. I have seen people blaming their parents for who they turned out to be even at the age of 40. And one wonders when this will end.
People need to learn that if they want something, they have to fight for it. They have to do their best and not give up. Resilience, persistence is key. The world is not an easy place but one must look it in the eyes and get what they deserve from it.
At the end of the day, no one cares whether another was raised as an orphan. No one cares whether another was raised from a rich family. No one cares if another is struggling through life, how they sleep or what they eat. The world really cares less.
So wake up and take some action. Enough of the complaints. Stop giving uncalled for excuses. Do something. Start small. Progress steadily. Do not feel entitled to God knows what just like that. Above all, don’t be seated throwing a pity party.
At the end of the day if you want to be somewhere, you need to have a starting point. Stop finding excuses and feeling sorry for yourself as the world moves on.
