Sheeba, Slick Stuart and DJ Roja get nods in Nigerian Entertainment Awards

Bebe Cool complained two years back that the Ugandan deejays are not patriotic because they play more Nigerian music than Ugandan, but today, we are able to see the impact of their radical decision. Deejays Roja and Slick Stuart have just been nominated in the Nigerian Entertainment Awards (NEA), a good sign that they are taking the African continent by storm.
This comes a few weeks after the two scooped their first ever Buzz Teeniez awards, Wickedest Deejays, during the 10th edition.
And talking about”taking by storm”, Sheeba Karungi continues to prove her dominance as she emerged as the only Ugandan artiste to be nominated in these awards. She will be facing off with Vannessa Mdee (Tanzania), Efya (Ghana), Lira (South Africa), MZ Vee (Ghana), Adiouza (Senegal), Victoria Kimani (Kenya) and Knowless Butera (Rwanda) in the African Female Artiste of the Year (Non–Nigerian) category, while Roja and Slick Stuart are nominated in the African (Non Nigerian) Disc Jockey category.
The 11th edition of the NEA will be hosted in New York on September 4th and the awards are aimed at recognising and appreciating the contributions of Nigerian and African Entertainers.
Sqoop would like to congratulate Roja and Slick Stuart (who play every Friday, for the Superstar Fridays on KFM) for this nomination.
