When former minister Maria Mutagamba, the brains behind the Miss Tourism search was replaced as Tourism minister, many thought the beauty pageant was dead. So hold that thought right there pessimists!
The search for Miss Tourism Uganda, a pageant which crowns girls aged between 18 to 28 years is back and the first round of the 2016/17 search will take place tomorrow at Moroto Hotel.
The search will continue in 12 other regions, including Kigezi, Ankole, Tooro, Bunyoro, Buganda, Busoga, Mbale, Teso, Northern, West Nile and Karamoja.
The reigning Miss Tourism Uganda is Pauline Akurut and at the end of her reign she will handover the crown to the winner at a grand finale in August.
Miss Tourism Uganda was launched by Maria Mutagamba in 2013 after its collapse 20 years ago and since then it has been running for three years in a row.
