‘Gather For Children’ is tomorrow going to be the beneficiary of Iryn Namubiru’s philanthropic gesture when she auctions off her over 100 pairs of shoes.
The artist will auction off her own shoe collection to raise funds for the orphanage she founded in 2006 in partnership with the Namukozi West women’s group and the auctioning is slated to take place tomorrow at the Wine Garage in Muyenga from 9am to 1pm.
“If you’ve ever liked my fashion, come ready to bid. Take home a pair of my shoes and put shoes on a child in Mityana,” Namubiru said through her social media platforms before also encouraging people to also donate their shoes for the children. “Please bring any good quality used or new shoes for boys and girls aged one to 14 years to support the less privileged children.”
Last week, Iryn gathered and gave out several items that included blankets and bed-sheets, Gomesi, sleeping bags, farming materials like hoes and gumboots to Namukozi West women’s group.
Gather For Children is a Community Based Organization in Mityana, Namabale and Namukozi, which supports women to farm and feed their children by providing the land, equipment and other necessities.
