The track: Ki ekiganye – Bebe cool

beb
If there is an artiste who has received the highest criticism in this music industry, it must be Bebe Cool. From the Tubonga Naawe saga where his Opposition fans vowed to boycott his shows to an online war between him and Ziza Bafana, there is no doubt the singer has some heavy social influence. How he does it, only he knows. To answer all these in a rather abstract manner, Bebe Cool released a track called Ki Ekiganye. This title in direct translation means sabotaging. He serves this song to the audience with a dancehall beat seasoned with tailored lyrics that sync perfectly.

Starting the song, he sings “Lord have mercy” in patois. He then speaks to listeners, singing when they don’t come to the dance floor it’s not interesting. He asks what is stopping them from having fun. The first verse then addresses those who are never straight and urges them to settle, otherwise their blessings will bypass them. The second verse is basically taking charge of his genre, declaring himself the dancehall commando. Onto the last verse he assures critics of how he is enjoying life and he does not know how to account for it. Apart from the message embedded on this track, it is very danceable and is good for listening pleasure.
