Just like the song title, the video is a clear statement that indeed when it gets to making awesome music videos, then Cindy is still standing. She has invested time, energy and money in each of her newest videos. The video starts off at a long stretch of a road where Cindy is driving a convertible. As this happens, a dude on a motorbike approaches from the same direction. Together they reach a point of convergence and the usual happens.
Yes, the usual happens and this could be at that one and only point where the video loses it. It acted out the predictable. One expected a slight twist to the motions at this point. It would have been interesting if these two got racing, the man on the bike, Cindy in the sleek car. It doesn’t happen. Instead, the man plays the perfect mannequin while Cindy rattles with her musical energy and dance vibrations.
At another scene, Cindy acts out as a queen of sorts seated on a throne with two maids at her service. Fashion wise, she more than nails it. There is that lucid crisp-white dress that she at one point transforms into a body suit. Not to forget the denim black dress with straps bearing seductively on her shoulders.
The subtle message that is ‘still standing’ comes out at the climax of the video. As the rain drops, Cindy goes on performing without any relentlessness. The man holds an umbrella for her in a show of solidarity, or respect for her greatness. And it is not all without the dances. Yes, Cindy takes to the floor with that refreshing skyline background. The viewer will get the feeling that this is not just a music video; this is an entry into Cindy’s world. It’s a world of resilience and passion. And she still stands.
