Uganda singing duo Radio and Weasel survived the Boycott debacle on Friday night during their ‘Omwana Wabandi’ concert, after their music gig was fired up by National Resistance Movement (NRM) bigwigs.
The singers who were part of the Tubonga Naa we (president Museveni’s campaign song) in the 2016 general election team that rallied supporters for the president’s re-election had gotten worried that fans would boycott their concert since Opposition politicians declared a music boycott for all artistes who were part of the Tubonga Nawe project.
However, the music duo was boosted by several NRM stalwarts including Capt. Mike Mukula, the party vice chairman eastern region, Mr Ronald Kibuule, the state minister for Water and Sanitation, among others.
The NRM leaders did not only show up with their supporters but also occupied the VIP section, which was sparsely populated.

Another boost was from Mrs Prossy Mayanja. She is also mother to Jose Chameleone and Pallaso, also popular musicians.
Mrs Mayanja rare appearance to support her son surprised revelers at the event. Dressed elegantly in a blue long dress and holding a matching bag, she was seen enjoying herself to the fullest.
