Radio and Weasel proved critics wrong last Friday evening during their ‘Omwana wabandi’ concert at Hotel Africana. But if you have been attending their previous shows at the same venue, you will realize that the number of people decreased but not to an extent of their show flopping which was followed up by a an appreciation message from the duo on their social media platform.
“We are taking this opportunity to thank everyone that made our show a success last night, we are so humbled, without you guys, we couldn’t make it. Thanks for loving Radio and Weasel unconditionally and supporting Ugandan Music. It’s you our fans, friends and family that keep us moving.”
But like it has always been in the Ugandan entertainment industry, there are extra concerts that follow up the main event in different areas and the Goodlyf singing duo were supposed to have a show at Colline Hotel Mukono on Saturday night but it did not take place. Until now we haven’t gotten a formal message from both Goodlyf and the management of the hotel on why the show didn’t happen.
The only information that was passed on to the audience who had already paid their entry fee was that Radio’s voice was not okay following Friday’s performance. But our source told us that by the time it clocked 7pm on Saturday evening, there was no sign of a musical show as there was no any instruments setup.
This raised speculations among the fans although they continued paying for the show. It was around 9 Pm that a group of fans inside the venue began losing their patience and it is at this moment that they were told the show had been cancelled.
