It has been said more than often that for a little-known musician to have a collabo with a big artiste, they have to pay their way through. Note: Not to say that Leila Kayondo is a little-known artiste, but probably because she is not consistent in the industry, her name has always come up on this same matter, especially after her collaborations with Chameleone. The two artistes have recorded two songs together; Hooray and Relaxing. So while appearing on a local TV station on Wednesday morning, the Manifesto singer cleared the air, saying she is talented. “I chose this career and I have shown my potential through the many songs I have. Never before have I paid anyone to feature in my song. It has always been mutual consent,” Leila said.
On the same show, the singer distanced herself from rumours that she was back with her ‘ex-boyfriend’ SK Mbuga, who is rumoured to have financed her just-premiered Manifesto video that was shot by Sasha Vybz. “I solved whatever happened, I moved on and I will never date him again”.
The relationship between the two came into the limelight at the end of last year after SK Mbuga assaulted the singer, who reported the incident was reported to police. Leila later recalled the case and if you thought they had kissed and made up, well now you have it from the horse’s mouth!
