For a moment when he gave her a bouquet of flowers, we thought singer Eddy Kenzo was going to pull out a little box! But no, what he had in store was a promise to his girlfriend Rema Namakula that he plans to spend forever with her. The Soraye singer made this known in the presence of his mother and Rema’s friends and relatives who had gathered for her 25th birthday party at Fairway Hotel. The party was organised as a surprise by Kenzo.
Rema, who was brought in later by Kenzo, was surprised to see people whom she did not expect. At the party, Kenzo told his mother about his plans to officially marry Rema before this year ends. It was a moment of joy as Rema got overwhelmed and tears started rolling down her cheeks – a clear sign that this was probably a moment she had long been waiting for.
Kenzo made sure everyone had fun as drinks and bites were on the house. Singer David Lutalo, whom Kenzo knows is Rema’s best artiste, also made a surprise performance specially organised for the birthday girl. The two singers have been dating for two years now and they have a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Amaal Musuuza.
No rings exchanged, but I guess we can say congrats on your ‘engagement’ Rema!
