Former Kampala City mayor Al Hajji Nasser Ntege Ssebagala was one of the humorous characters to ever grace the political circles in Uganda going by his remarks and command of the English language. No wonder he became a ‘people’s darling of sorts. It’s because of this character that most people he barked up after his term in office had expired usually won the elections in their different categories.
Well, Ssebagala is at it again, this time round recommending Kato Lubwama who emerged victorious over Ken Lukyamuzi in the just concluded Parliamentary elections and Mubarak Munyagwa who is now the new MP for Kawempe South.
Much as people are critiquing their credentials to be good representatives because of their funny characters yet Parliament really needs serious people, Nasser Ssebagala thinks the two will actually do a good job.
“In my opinion, Kato Lubwama and Mubarack Munyagwa will represent their places well in Parliament. They might be funny characters, but they received the most votes which means people have trust in them.” he said.
He also added that Kato Lubwama and Munyagwa are not old which gives them an upper hand in connecting well with the youths who constitute more of the population.
