Café Arabica: is located on Republic Street. It offers lunch, breakfast, stews and is convenient during evening hours in case you have office work to finish. The ambiance is warm, stylish with a touch of class. Food and drinks are great although somewhat expensive.
Eco Shamba: This is a favourite spot for Bazungu and a few Ugandans. It is open 24/7 although the days are quiet and more peaceful. The music is fairly loud making a good ambiance to hang out for weekends and evenings. It serves you the best organic coffee you need. The wireless Internet is also superb.
Pavement Pub: Quiet place with not many revelers It is a good place to start your night fun. Lots of chicken, Beers and other drinks are served cold and quite cheaply.
Thatch Gardens: is a famous hang out in Mbale comprised of two different bars with pool table and blurring music to dance to. The joint is grass thatched with wooden stools and high vaulted ceiling. It is the place to visit all through the week. You will fortunately catch up on Uganda’s musicians doing a show there over the weekend.
Kigali Pub: Comes to life on Sunday Evening, it’s the most happening place during Sundays, The roads are blocked from either side as revelers enjoy their beers and drinks seated in the middle of the road.
Mbale’s dance clubs.
There are few night clubs around Mbale. To attract night revellers, the night clubs create theme nights for every week day at particular charges. Normally, entrance is cheap but drinks are somewhat expensive.
El Tanjia: Many night revelers end their night trail at El Tanjia. It is a fun place to go dancing and of course drink yourself silly. Its Mbale’s number one night spot with great music played in by in house DJs, during theme nights. There is a section for VIPs with separate facilities for the high class revelers.
Club Lavida: rivals to El Tanjia. Although the dance area is small, the club is packed with revelers every day. You can be sure to find women of the night ‘prostitutes’ chasing after revelers who come around.
