If there is anyone who showed the world what they are made of last year, that would be Eddy Kenzo. This guy was arguably the best Ugandan act of 2015, although that is debatable for some people.
Kenzo bagged the first East African BET award, followed by many other accolades and nomination nods in various awards. One must say he has a lot to keep up to. Well, this guy is not asleep. To usher in 2016, he dropped a new track titled Soraye. This song is about two weeks old and its claiming airwaves steadily, not only in Uganda but Africa at large.
As you listen to this jam, you will learn that Soraye is the name of a beautiful girl whom Kenzo showers with sweet nothings. In the three different verses he assures her of how she is the apple of his eye and all he wants from her is confidence.
He asks his Soraye to promise she is going go marry him since he is done searching for any other. The pleasure on this track are the instrumentals – they are amazing – a mixture of acoustics and drums to create a very danceable melody. At least that is an art Kenzo has bred over the years. However, lyrically, there is nothing to savour. Despite that, this song is one to watch out for.
