Bobi Wine is one artiste who will say it as it is and this attitude has annoyed many people while it’s what makes him a darling to others. With a few weeks to this year’s political elections, the artiste released a new song called ‘Dembe’ but he has been criticized for the wrong reasons with some people in the public saying he was paid to release it while others are saying there is a hidden message behind it which advocates for change of Government.
Bobi Wine, while premiering the video of the song a few hours back on ‘The Beat’ programme on NTV, clarified that he was never paid to do this song. He also said his main reason to join the music industry was to basically pass on information that would benefit the society.
“To clear the air about my song, I was never paid by anyone to release the song. It was entirely my idea to come up with this song just like ‘Ghetto’, ‘Ebibuuzo’ and ‘time bomb’ among others. I was also told that the electoral commission is using my ‘Obululu’ song for their different campaigns but I’ve never received any penny from them and I don’t mind it because my music is there to be consumed by the public. However, if they invite me for some payment, I can never resist. Every artiste has a goal as to why they join the music industry and my aim was to out songs that can positively change the society.” Bobi said.
