Mid this year, Uganda Breweries Ltd launched the House Walker shop at Sheraton Kampala Hotel – a one-stop shop for all globally-acclaimed luxury Johnnie Walker whiskies, followed with creation of the globally respected Blue Club -a worldwide exclusive club for whisky drinkers. To join the Blue Club, one had to spend $2500 (approximately Shs9m) to buy 12 bottles of Johnnie Walker Blue Label.
The Blue Club comes with a luxurious offer for its members, including 24-hour whisky delivery, a trip to the home of Johnnie Walker in Scotland, backstage experience at Formula One events and a private whisky tasting dinner with up to 50 friends every year. Dr Sudhir Ruparelia was the first member to enjoy, after UBL threw him a house warming party in form of the Symphony in Blue mentorship.
And steady fast, UBL is honouring yet a few other Blue Club members. This time round, four members; Charlie Lubega-owner Club Guvnor, Arthur Busingye, Kenneth Kitariko-CEO/MD African Alliance Uganda, and Konstantinos Stamos a Greek/Ugandan-CEO of Great Lakes Coffee Ltd, and owner of Mitos restaurant, will be fully-sponsored to enjoy VVIP access at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Formula One this weekend.
The four will sleep at Traders Hotel, Qaryat AlBeri and will enjoy a private transfer to Yas Marina Circuit everyday besides dining at the exclusive McLaren Honda VIP Club.
