One of the most asked questions by music lovers on social media since the announcement of the D’banj concert, has been whether Club Guvnor will be big enough to accommodate the thousands of D’banj fans in Uganda. But Guvnor came out to show that they had indeed planned ahead, when they announced that the road will be closed to create more space for revellers for the concert due on November 13.
Guvnor publicist Natasha Kayondo said a huge marque tent will be erected on the street and spruced up to provide a tropical luxury feel which rhymes with the new Ciroc Pineapple drink that will be unveiled in Uganda that night.
However, even with more space created on the street, Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL), the company the distributors of Ciroc whisky, which D’banj represents as the African ambassador, have come out to add some exclusivity to the event.
We have it on good authority that only 1500 tickets will be available for public purchase for the show.
According to the head of reserve at UBL- Annette Nakiyaga, the number of tickets has been restricted in order to achieve the event themes that border on introducing tropical luxury and Uganda joining the global celebration destinations.
“We want everyone in attendance to have the real feel of the Ciroc Pineapple experience. It’s a high rollers’ event and it’s exclusivity can’t be compromised. We sent out invites to some of our loyal Ciroc drinkers to buy first, but once the tickets go out on sale next week, it shall be first come, first serve basis,” Annette told us.
Annette said that a ticket goes for Shs 200,000 and it comes with a free bottle of Ciroc.
