When American Rn’B superstar Ne-yo’s concert was announced, the organisers, Uganda Breweries stated that entry to the show would be entirely free of charge. All one had to do was buy Bell Lager and send 10 codes to 8464 and automatically win a ticket.
Well, some people felt left out and the show organisers have now decided to put some tickets on sale. Sources say there was concern about some people who wanted VIP treatment and didn’t want to be with the “masses”, so they would rather buy their own tickets than be in the “general happiness” section.
Also, there are sections of the public who expressed their inability to access the promotion as they do not consume alcoholic beverages.
“Limited tickets are being put up for sale to cater for those who feel that they have been left out by the under-the-crown promotion for one reason or another,” said UBL MD Nyimpini Mabunda in a press conference at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel last Wednesday.
Ticket prices will be Shs60,000 for ordinary and Shs120,000 for VIP. The brewers say only 5,000 tickets will be up for sale.
However, the promotion is still ongoing and those who don’t want to part with their money can still send codes under the Bell Lager crowns and win tickets.
“These tickets do not in any way interfere with the ongoing mechanic, rather they only offer an option to persons who for one reason or another, are unable to collect 10 codes,” Mabunda said.
The concert will be held on Friday October 30, at the Lugogo Cricket Oval.
