Being a public figure comes with challenges. We shall use socialites Meddie Ssentongo and Sulaiman Mbuga as examples. For weeks, Mbuga has been negotiating with an account holder on Facebook not to release information that would dent his image.
A certain Esmile Bugembe, aka ‘the International Analyst’, made a post on his wall in which he promised to unleash details on how Mbuga is engrossed in a love scandal akin to that of Meddie Ssentongo and Bad Black.
“I’m bringing you proof of nature and type of business deal between Mbuga and Sweden-based business woman Angela Vivian Birungi, plus all parties involved, please load MBs,” was Bugembe’s first post. In a following post, Bugembe disclosed that Mbuga’s deal rotates around ‘a business deal and not love!’
However, as he wrote this, Bugembe was also busy trying to blackmail the tycoon. He was later arrested at Mbuga’s house where he had gone to pick Shs6m not to publicise his findings.
Around the same time, socialite Meddie Ssentongo also caused the arrest of his impersonator on Face book, Arthur Asiimwe.
“He was conning people of their money, saying he was me and he promised to hook them up with jobs in US and other countries,” Meddie told us.
By the time of his arrest, Asiimwe had gone to pick payment from a one Fifi Mutoni, whom he had promised a job in US.
