It’s official Nigerian Koko master D’banj will be headlining the Tropical Luxury party come November 13.
And for the first time in its two decades’ existence, Guvnor, is set to block part of the road on First Street Industrial Area to give revellers a real tropical luxury experience.
According to Guvnor publicist Natasha Kayondo, besides the street giving more room for more revellers, the party theme dictates a tropical feel that could only be achieved through an outdoor event. “We expect an overwhelming turn up because we are hosting a superstar. But we also intend to achieve the ‘tropical luxury’ feel with an outstanding outdoor ambiance that has never been anywhere in Kampala before,” Kayondo told us.
She was however quick to note that they are in talks with KCCA for permission to use the road for that day.
UBL reserve brand manager Annette Nakiyaga highlighted that the event will usher Uganda into the “club” of influential global celebration cities. “With a D’Banj show, the first African singer to join the Ciroc league of international endorsers, and the new premium brand- Ciroc Pineapple being launched on the same night, Kampala as a city and Uganda as a nation will make it to the list of global celebration venues,” Nakiyaga noted!
