Marketing: He has done marketing for seven years and has experience in software engineering. Mihigo talks about how he started his business.
What is the name of your business and when did you set it up?
Ignite Media Ltd, we started early this year after I quit my job.
What services does this business offer?
We do marketing consultancy majoring in digital marketing, social media marketing, e-commerce and website design. We also do software and app development.
How much do you charge for your services?
Different businesses have different needs and implementation plans that affect the price. So we treat different clients in different ways. All one needs to do is come to our offices and we negotiate.
What challenges do you face when doing this business?
Some people have not yet appreciated that conversations have moved online. They are still investing in traditional marketing which is not efficient and does not stimulate the emotions of consumers to buy their products or services. So we are struggling to change their mindsets.
How have you benefited from this business?
I have met many people but the most important thing is being able to help businesses achieve their vision. A company that has been in existence for years trusting you with their marketing is humbling. I am happy financially as well. I have met many people. Helping companies achieve goals using my expertise is also humbling.
Where are your offices located?
We are located at Kamure Park building in Bukoto opposite Bukoto flats.
Which companies have you offered your services for so far?
We have done work for Georgina Eye Hospital, Naads, and Ministry of works among others.

Where did you get the expertise to start up such a kind of business?
I have done marketing for over seven years and I have experience in software engineering. So I wanted something that cuts right in the middle. Marketing using digital platforms. I also read a lot to keep updated with new trends in marketing and social media.
Where do you see this business three years from now?
I see us covering Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Congo.
