Look back to 2009, don’t you remember Vampos as one of the most vibrant dancehall talents then? After listening to his latest track, Kimuli, I know all was not done. The singer was simply cooking a new vibe for his fans. Kimuli means flower in English and just like a flower, Vampos sprouts a new style of music at a rather higher tempo than usual. He still bears his signature vocals. He speaks of a woman who he describes as a flower that is making him restless. This story is manifested in the chorus, which surely sticks. “Baby kimuli, baby kimuli, ewange kilibubi…..” he sings. This chorus is in form of a dialogue which he sings with Chameleone. Thumbs up to Vampos on choosing Chameleone, as he adds linguistic diversity to the song as he sings in Swahili. The track shows Vampos’consistency in capturing East Africa, especially after his song with Tanzania’s Bushoke.
