At this rate, Nigeria is soon becoming comedian Patrick Idringi aka Salvado’s second home. The singer has been to Lagos twice in the past two weeks, yet he has a streak of shows booked in Africa’s biggest economy till end of year. Besides flying the Ugandan flag high, Salvado has made it a point to make friends with several stars wherever he goes. And unlike musicians who just stop at collabos with foreign contemporaries, Salvado has always interested his foreign counterparts to visit his motherland.
This is evident through his past star-studded “Africa Laughs” annual comedy shows.
Well, during his recent show – the Glofest, Salvado wowed the Nigerian crowds and immediately booked himself space among the several Nigerian stars present. Among them is 2015 MAMA’s new artiste Patoranking.
“He came to me and after exchanging greetings, and told me he has always wanted to visit my country,” Salvado told us.
The comedian called Talent Africa boss Ali Allibhai and a date for Patoranking live in Uganda is yet to be announced. For those in the music business, brokering a performance for a foreign artiste would be too sweet a deal, but for the comedy maestro, it is about helping to bring another star home.
Meanwhile, Salvado returned last night from Lagos where he had gone to be part of Basket Mouth’s birthday party, and will go back to Lagos for the ‘Lords of the ribs’ comedy show on October 4. One word for Salvado?
