DJ Roja and DJ Slick Stuart are notably the best deejaying duo in the country.
The two have become a force to reckon with in the disc-spinning fraternity in the country. Roja and Stuart have many of their weekdays booked for gigs in different nightspots (sometimes in more than one hangout), while their calendar is booked for several gigs outside Kampala and out of the country.
Well, last year, the duo came up with an idea of an annual concert that they dubbed The Mix Tape Party. The do is back and it will on September 19 take place at the Laftaz Lounge poolside. The duo managed to attract a couple of sponsors that have seen the disc spinners bag over Shs 40m.
News on our desk indicates that Pepsi bankrolled the duo with Shs25m as sponsorship besides handling most of the advertising for the party.
Smirnoff is also said to have given Roja and Stuart about Shs10m. The two remained tight-lipped about the total sponsorship cash they received.
But Stuart told us they expect 20 entertainers, including artistes, comedians and DJs to perform. Entry to the party will be Shs20,000 for VIP and Shs10,000 for ‘general happiness’.
