When chicks gossip, we understand that it is almost like food for the soul. A dose of lugambo (gossip) is what every chick out there needs to get through her day. Chicks always find it inevitable to meet once in a while over a cup of coffee and basically catch up on other people’s lives. Nothing gives chicks more satisfaction than knowing some useless details about people they normally do not know about or have not even met.
Chicks will want the latest 411 on the new guy in office. They will make it their life’s goal to find out why a certain couple split or what caused the miscarriage of a neighbour they have never even talked to. It is funny how you will find these corporate chicks smartly dressed at a coffee shop looking all serious. You then start to assume that they are discussing issues yet they could be connecting dots about who could have stolen a ream of paper at office. Some of them can be that petty. You sense that chicks are just pros at this lugambo thing and it is a vice that is not about to divorce them soon.
Even more disgusting is guys who do this lugambo thing. There are certain guys (God save us) who are doing this gossip thing more frequently than they should and are giving the ladies a run for their money. It is embarrassing, to say the least, but it is sure happening. As in, a chick could take a guy with her on her salon errands and dude would not feel left out on salon talk. Can you imagine these things happening?
You find a grown man also making it a point to find out who is sleeping with who. They also want to know who is carrying whose baby. Guys, seriously? We are surely better than this. Honestly, you cannot spend very many hours trying to solve a mystery about how a certain tycoon could have got his money. It is surely not your business, so mind your own.
Guys let’s face it. Gossip was a preserve for the women so let’s try to keep it that way. If you do not have a level of pride in you, force it. It is surely not our place to go snooping around for what does not matter to us. Let your neighbour handle his issues without you making them your business and broadcasting them to the entire universe. I know the lure of lugambo can be gripping but let’s try to avoid it guys. There are always things to discuss. Politics, soccer and the like but not about the people who slept panty-less last night? Style up!
