There was drama at Kati Kati grounds last Friday after KCCA officials stopped singer Ziza Bafana’s Guluma Nasomye concert. The authority’s law enforcers cited “failure to secure a KCCA permit.”
There was fracas as two men- Hakim Byekwaso and Sande Nsubuga of Vision Events attacked Bafana’s manager a one Balunywa. The two alleged to have given Balunywa money to secure the permits.
“We are going to take legal action; we can’t just take in this huge loss,” said Nsubuga who alleged to have paid Shs25m to buy off Ziza Bafana’s Guluma Nasomye concert rights.
However, Balunywa in his defence said that he couldn’t fail a show in which he had a stake. “ I made a deal with Bafana; I gave him a car he wanted and in return I was supposed to take the first Shs10m from the gate collections. I paid for the permit, but KCCA later turned around and rejected the money saying the venue was near a hospital and it wasn’t convenient for a concert. I also need to get back my money and Bafana knows that,” Balunywa told us.
Earlier this week, Balunywa and the Vision Entertainment representatives met and resolved to have the concert on Sunday August 30 at Freedom City in order to recoup their money.
However Bafana went ahead with subsequent concerts in Kasangati and Mukono over the weekend.
