The choice on which tablet will work for you is a tricky issue. The main factors in choosing a tablet are usually the price tag and the gadget’s features. To make choice even more complex, various companies now produce tablets. The latest is the s-line of the Lenovo tablets. Today we look at the S8 that is priced at about Shs500,000.
Unlike its predecessor the Lenovo A, the highlight of this new tablet is it comes with a SIM slot with voice-calling, but it doesn’t support 4G LTE connectivity.
The Tab S8 runs Android 4.4 KitKat and sports an 8-inch 1920×1200 pixels display and it is powered by One Glass Solution touch-panel technology.
It has a quad-core Intel Atom Z3745 processor and 2GB of Ram that powers the tablet. The S8 tablet comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage with no expandable option.
It sports an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with an LED flash and BSI 2 sensor, while there is a secondary 1.6-megapixel HD fixed focus front-facing camera also onboard.
Apart from 4G LTE, the Lenovo Tab S8 includes Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. The tablet packs a non-removable 4290mAh Li-ion battery, which is rated to deliver up to seven hours of usage time and up to 396 hours of standby time.
The company touts that the S8 tablet has dual front-facing speakers powered by Dolby Audio. It measures 209.8×123.8×7.9mm, weighs 299 grammes, and is available in Ebony colour.
