Early last year, we ran a story on these very pages, which we backed up with a photo of NTV presenter Edwin Katamba, aka, Mc Kats and his lover-singer Fille Mutoni indicating that the two had gotten engaged. Mc Kats apparently proposed to Fille towards the end of 2013 and the singer responded in the affirmative. Kats went ahead and posted the photo of the ring on Fille’s hand on his Facebook wall, saying he would be “walking Fille down the aisle next September” (2014). But by last September, Fille was a few weeks pregnant. Kats never talked about the wedding again. However, the wedding talk was back towards the end of last year when Fille’s mother visited Kats’ mother demanding a church wedding – which Kats hurriedly agreed to. But that was not the reason Kats went down on his knee live on TV as he co-hosted the annual Buzz Teeniz Awards last Saturday. According to a source close to Fille, the No Money singer was not content with the way Kats proposed to her the first time. “He proposed to her over a drink in a bar in Ntinda in 2013. She thought he was just making a statement; she didn’t feel it. So she challenged him to make it more serious and more meaningful and in a sober state,” a source told us. And that is why Kats did it live on TV, before thousands of teens at Kati Kati last Saturday. Well, Fille said yes, and guess that is all that matters.
