Singer Jackie Chandiru walked down the aisle at the weekend at what many have come to describe as a secret wedding. She got married to Nol Van Vliet, a wealthy Dutch man. Vliet seems to be in his 50s while Jackie is only in her 30s. This has been the centre of criticism on social media since the news started spreading last weekend. Tabloids wrote that Jackie had only known Vliet for a few months and she hurried to marry him because of his wealth. Others alleged that Jackie was going to quit singing because she hit a jackpot. We attended the wedding reception at Serena Hotel and we can confirm that Jackie and Vliet looked very happy. However, during an exclusive chat with the mugole earlier this week, Jackie made it clear that she will do everything in her powers to protect her marriage. Jackie also told us that she will not be quitting what she does best – singing! She also responded to accusations that she is being the Gold digger she sang about in one of her songs: “Why do people waste their time hurting about things that don’t concern them?
He is my husband and I don’t mind his age. I didn’t even know that he was wealthy. Some have even said mbu I am waiting for him to die and I take his wealth, what if I die first?” Jackie wondered. Jackie warned tabloids and people discussing her miscarriage, saying they should be cautious: “It’s common in Uganda; 70 per cent of women that conceive have miscarriages, it could happen to anyone. It’s very traumatising’ Jackie said she will be releasing a video of her latest single, Wotuse, sometime this weekend, before she flies out for her honeymoon in either Paris or Morocco.
