2014 was a volatile year for singers Radio and Weasel after they parted ways with their former manager Jeff Kiwanuka. They are still locked in a property wrangle over their home (christened Neverland) in Makindye as Jeff claims he co-owns the property.
Many thought the duo’s creative juices would be sucked in the fights but they have kept giving us good music, including the recently released Juicy. The boys have traditionally held a concert in May, but it wasn’t clear whether they would hold one this year as there has been no hype whatsoever (it usually takes about three months of promotion). Early this week however, Kibo Media announced that they would organise Radio and Weasel’s concert come May 8.
“Yes the boys have had a few problems, but their problems were not anything to do with music. They have kept giving us good music and I have decided to work with them to put another big concert this year,” Kibo Media boss Bobkins Kibirige, who has organised the duo’s past six album launch concerts, said.
“We have dubbed the concert The Best Of Radio and Weasel, so expect nothing but the best from the boys,” he said.
The main show will take place at Hotel Africana and they will also have other shows at Satellite Beach Mukono on May 9 and Ggaba Beach on May 10.
