From her the success she got with her debut single Zero Distance, Anita is the fresh female dance hall queen after the likes of Bella and Magla went silent. On her latest single Whine, she features ragga muffin Weasel of the Goodlyfe Crew, who syncs perfectly well with her vibe.
Whine is just a party song that one would love to dance to. Just like the title suggests, it speaks to listeners especially the ladies to shake their bodies and possibly leave the dancehall with their partners.
Weasel starts off the song with the chorus, which is in form of dialogue, as Anita responds to his lines. Weasel adds his coarse vocals and echoing sounds matching perfectly with the song’s instrumentals. Adding spice to the track is the bridge before the chorus which goes, “I wanna take you home girl, I wanna take you to my home now…”
Produced by Nash Wonder, the instrumental is one of the highlights of the song. It’s a cocktail of dancehall beats and a Spanish guitar, making the track very danceable. Even if she sings this song in English with hope that it crosses boundaries, Anita is good at singing in Luganda as witnessed by her previous releases. She is a talent we would love to watch grow.
