Quick CV : Florence Naluyimba Mujaasi

flory-best
Senior Science, Health and Environment reporter NTV Uganda

FIRST CAR
I have never owned a car.

CURRENT CAR
I go to work on boda bodas, they’re my savior…I have a phobia for PSV taxis. I love my bodas period. Don’t judge me!

DREAM CAR
I have never dreamt of a car… I have always visualised myself on a motor bike, that’s my dream ride. Anytime I see a female on fine bike, I feel cheated, it should be me on it, I am not so sure which brand,  but I want it black or red.

FIRST JOB
I  was a research assistant at the Steadman Group which is now known as Ipsos.

CURRENT JOB
I’m a Senior Science, Health and Environment reporter at NTV Uganda. I am also the producer of Health Focus, a weekly health segment highlighting health issues in the country. I also write for HEJNU (Health Journalists Network in Uganda).

got where i am by
Being an orphan at a young age, you realise early enough that you need to do better than the other children- you are always competitive. So, I have always been a diligent worker, quite an endurer, assertive and aggressive, and I fear failure. Finally, I always have conversations with myself.

FAV GADGET
My Samsung Galaxy tab. I got it as a prize for an award from the Population Secretariat and UNFPA in 2012.

FAV MOVIE/series
I’m not so much into movies, I’m more into series but I enjoyed Mega Mind.

FAV MEAL
I love spaghetti mixed with minced meat.

WORST HABIT
When I notice people do “a habit’ I tell myself I won’t catch it, but if addiction to Pepsi counts as a habit, then it’s my recent worst habit! I’m however trying to break that one as I take more water these days.

INSPIRED BY
God inspires me.  That Man up there took my parents and I went through tough times but in the end, knowing he’s there comforts me, But I have argued with Him, I once bashed him on Facebook.  I also have sources that I have met, who inspired and challenged me.

BEST QUOTE
Hmmm…I’ve come across many that I love, but for now I will settle for one by Bernard Shaw;  “People who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it.”
