It looks like 2015 is going to be a great year for rapper Atlas da African. His latest video New Day on which he features songstress Lilian Mbabazi has received good reviews across Africa and he is currently in Italy where he was invited to perform at the Premio Franco Razionale in Crotone, last Sunday.
Our sources tell us that he exclusively released the video for his upcoming single Tsunami to a private audience of business owners, promoters and press. We’ve learnt that he is the first African musician to be interviewed and have his videos played in the Southern Italy region.
When contacted, executives at Deuces Entertainment Group – DEG, the label to which Atlas is signed to were tight lipped about the developments but said, “It’s our duty to represent Ugandan music on the global platform”.
DEG has pushed the envelope in promoting the rapper, and recently had billboards all over town announcing his New Day release.
BREAKING BARRIERS
Atlas performed at the Premio Franco Razionale, a sports journalists awarding ceremony, now in it’s ninth edition. Atlas was invited because the theme this year revolved around racial intergration, considering that the Crotone region has the largest reception centre of immigrants in Europe.
