Having worked on the FM airwaves for two decades, no one can take away the fact that Roger Mugisha is an experienced radio host, leave alone being a great events MC.
And yet Roger has not been selfish with his expertise. The radio star has in the past visited broadcasting schools where he has lectured and participated in trainings for students in different aspects of the trade.
But all his expertise aside, Roger still went back to school and like we told you on these very pages several months back, he managed to graduate as a chartered marketer at the Chartered Institute of Marketing in UK.
And looks like Roger’s experience coupled with his academic qualifications did not go to waste. The veteran is set to quit presenting and take on a more challenging role, not just at KFM, a station he has offered his loyal services to for the past several years, but at Monitor Publications Ltd, the mother company of KFM and the Daily Monitor, that you are reading now.
Roger was earlier this week appointed and confirmed as the Business Development Manager at Monitor Publications Ltd. Our sources in the Human Resource department, told us that Roger is set to host his last breakfast show today before he assumes his new office next week.
As the business development manager, Roger will be charged with expounding and expanding revenue strings for the company. Roger will be charged with coming up with new business targets, strategies and concepts.
Roger will hand over the mantle to yet another industry big name – Ben Mwine. The radio presenter has experience spanning over 15 years. He started his career at Radio One and has also worked on Power FM and Radio Sanyu.
When contacted, Roger was hesitant to comment, but after a great deal of insisting, he confirmed that he was moving from one office to another. Join us in congratulating him.
