The story of Bebe Cool’s recent reunion with on and off nemesis Jose Chameleone only gets interesting every other day. Interesting, because it is in black and white that, this time round, the brothers strictly made up for a killing.
We told you about the hundreds of NRM millions at play, but we have learnt that there are also some more millions of shillings that the two leading artistes bagged from a renowned promoter, who is also said to have been rather instrumental in the NRM cash.
According to reliable sources, Bebe and Chameleone bagged $30,000 (about Shs 82m) each from the promoter to stage a musical battle this year.
The source told us that the promoter had to ride on his role in getting them the NRM cash as a bargaining tool for the two artistes to accept to battle, otherwise, the two had stuck at Shs 100m each, if the battle was to happen.
Although the dates for what will probably turn out the biggest musical battle in the land have been set, they remain a top secret as the artistes placed an ultimatum that such shall only be communicated after their concerts in May (Chameleone) and August (Bebe), respectively. Our source confirmed that the battle will be held at the Lugogo Cricket Oval.
