Like we told you, Jose Chameleone and Bebe Cool are some of the leading musicians on the receiving end of the NRM campaign cash ahead of the 2016 elections. Chameleone and Bebe Cool are both said to have met President Museveni and top members of the NRM team last Friday and they were allocated events at which they will offer their services.
Chameleone started off his duties on Sunday as he performed at a thanksgiving ceremony organised by Bugiri Woman MP, Justine Kasule Lumumba to celebrate her appointment as the new NRM Secretary General. The singer performed several of his songs including Valu Valu, Badilisha, his latest Wale Wale, Vumilia, Tubonge and so many more.
After the performance, Chamelone walked straight to the president who was chief guest, and shook his hand. The President held on to Chameleone’s hand a little longer as the two engaged in a short conversation. Chameleone later shared the details of the conversation through a post on his wall; “I was humbled to know that he’s a great fan of the Mighty Leone Island Music Empire Music. ‘Basiima Ogenze is my Favourite why didn’t you play it?’ That’s all he said.” Chameleone’s post read in part. Indeed, a source within the President’s security detail, who was also in hearing range to the President and Chameleone’s conversation told us that the President expressed his love for the Basima Ogenze hit, and he asked Chameleone to always perform it at functions and rallies where the President is in attendance.
