The children had warmed up to their biggest annual party, but the ruling party rained on the kids’ plot like hailstorms.
Earlier this week, we received word from, Joseph Masembe, the CEO Uganda’s Little Hands Go Green, that he had no option but to postpone the annual Superstar Green Xmas party that was slated for this Sunday to next Sunday, December 21.
“I had no option, because the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party will be using the event venue—Kololo Airstrip—for some of its pre-National Delegates Conference activities in the days leading up to December 14.”
Masembe added that the logistics and nature of the activities would not enable his team to adequately plan and prepare for the comfort, enjoyment and security of the children and their families.
“We beg that all parents and the superstars bear with us for the one week postponement. We promise that the one week change will enable us give the best Green Fun experience than ever before.”
Masembe maintained that the entrance fee remains Shs10,000 for every child while parents will not have to part with a shilling.
“We shall still give out tree seedlings as usual, to reemphasise our commitment to greening up our beloved Pearl of Africa.”
