He is not your usual face at theme parties around city hangouts. Yet, by virtue of his interactive entertainment TV show- The Beat, that airs on NTV, Douglas Lwanga enjoys huge support from those that watch him from different parts of the country. However, during an exclusive chat, Douglas told us that he chose to meet up and party with his fans and stakeholders in his TV show at an annual party he named The Purple Party.
Douglas has held the annual party for the past two years and it can only get better.
The Purple Party is back, and this time, it moves to Club Venom from Bull Dog in Wandegeya and it is on next weekend. When we asked what his fans should expect, Douglas simply answered, “The biggest 10 Ugandan entertainers in one place!”
Douglas told us that his lineup includes names such as Bebe Cool, Bobi Wine, Radio & Weasel, Iryn Ntale, Eddy Kenzo, Ziza Bafana, Gravity Omutujju, Cindy, Jackie Chandiru, Jose Chameleone as well as Sheeba and Pallaso.
But away from the Ugandan stars, Douglas also revealed that he will be flying in one of the Jamaican artistes that he interviewed on his show this year.
“I had a chat with this artiste and he was willing to do it for me as Douglas. I didn’t have the money to pay him, but he committed and he will be flying in next week,” Douglas told us, although he insisted he couldn’t mention the name of the artiste as it would kill the surprise.
