His job is to provide security at events.
What kind of business are you into?
I’m an events security consultant/specialist, owning a company called Core Events Services Ltd.
Why did you decide to go into that kind of business?
It’s because security at any event is the most important and sensitive issue. All event organisers need someone who is well versed with security.
Where did you pick the interest to get involved in security?
I picked the interest when I went to one event that entirely had no organisation security-wise. There were lots of thefts at both entry points and within the venue. That pushed me to start the company.
What guarantee do people have that their event will be secure in case it’s entrusted with you?
We offer studied security, analysis and consultation, we go ahead to plan effectively according to the type of event and to seal it off. We work hand in hand with the national security and that’s enough for a successful event security-wise.
What are the procedures that you go through when providing security at an event?
First we get permits from responsible authorities like KCCA and Nema before the event, then contact Police to alert them about the function and ask for their permission and we then plan the entire internal flow of security together with the organisers.
Besides offering security, what else do you do?
We also provide private security personnels that man entry points, backstage, VIP points, checking tickets as well as providing security gadgets for hire like walk through metal detectors, hand detectors, security barricades and walkie talkies.
What companies have you provided your services to?
Talent Africa, Balaam, KT Promotions, , Lollypop Records, BK Afro Beat, Gagamel Entertainment, Fenon Records, Buzz Teens , Abryanz Collection and many more.
How much do you charge per function?
They differ according to the package and they are negotiable. But the total package goes for Shs1.5m and that comes with processing permits and security personnel.
Where are your offices located?
We are found in Mengo, Balintuma Road next to Ndejje University.
