On Monday afternoon, chatty Independent Magazine boss, Andrew Mwenda, was hastily called out of his office on Kanjokya Street in Kamwokya, after a random truck rammed into his Audi Q7.
Mwenda should count himself a lucky man, because a source told us he was headed to his car minutes before the accident, but was diverted by a visitor, whom he quickly went to attend to in his office.
Well, the Audi Q7 registration no. UAK 277Q was bashed from the rear (see photo) and Mwenda’s mechanics told him, he would have to buy a new frame, if he ever wants to drive it again.
However, the NTV NewsNight Live panelist bragged that his insurance will handle everything with the offender. Mwenda is said to have reported the case at Kiira Road Police Station. But sources at The Independent headquarters have told us that their boss is not willing to drive the car he has driven for more than three years again. “The man (Mwenda) is very particular with cars. He has been on the Internet, communicating with car manufacturing companies in Europe to get him a factory-customised vehicle,” our source told us.
