Having lived in the US for a while, Andre Kasule got used to fast foods. When he returned home, he could not get good fast food. Back in the US, he had worked in a restaurant and picked up some cooking skills.
The youthful entrepreneur decided to open up an eatery, and Great Burgers was the realisation of his efforts. The hangout is located on King’s Gate mall next to Shell fuel station in Kabalagala.
The restaurant launched a new item on the menu, the Silverback burger, which the proprietor bets is the largest in town. It’s one of many options if you are in for a burger. There is chicken, beef, cheese, hamburgers and signature burgers.
To launch the silverback, comedian Daniel Omara did the honour of being the first person to enjoy the burger. The teaser is that if you can eat this burger in five minutes, then you don’t have to pay for it. Omara failed to beat the time challenge. Whenever you enjoy this huge burger, you will be putting a smile on someone’s face.
“Knowing that I can come here and enjoy something and it is charity feels great. I may have failed to finish it but I have made my contribution,” the comedian said.
The silverback challenge aims to raise funds for Cevic Uganda – A school for the visually impaired. A burger goes for 5Ok .
Besides the burgers, Great Burgers also serves chicken, rice, tea, coffee, ice cream and milk shakes. The food items cost between Shs1,500 and 20k. Burgers cost between 8k and 14k.
